AnkiMobile is a mobile application that serves as a companion to Anki, a powerful flashcard program known for its intelligence and cross-platform compatibility. AnkiMobile, developed by the lead developer of Anki and AnkiWeb, has been available since 2010. It's important to note that there are other apps in the market using the "Anki" name, but they lack compatibility with the broader Anki ecosystem and offer significantly fewer features.

AnkiMobile offers a host of impressive features:

 <li>Robust support for large card decks, even those containing over 100,000 cards.</li>
 <li>Offline study capabilities for cards featuring images or audio clips. Users can access media content without an internet connection.</li>
 <li>A powerful search function that allows users to find cards based on criteria such as tags, priority levels, recent activity, and specific word exclusions. The search results can be automatically collated into a dedicated deck for focused study.</li>
 <li>Support for displaying mathematical equations through MathJax and rendering LaTeX content created using the computer version of Anki.</li>
 <li>Compatibility with Apple Pencil, enabling users to add hand-drawn images to their flashcards.</li>

Please be aware that AnkiMobile is designed to complement the computer version of Anki, rather than replace it entirely. While AnkiMobile mirrors the display and scheduling functionalities of the computer program, certain tasks such as modifying note types must be completed using the computer software. Additionally, AnkiMobile does not support add-ons, though it can handle image occlusion cards created using the computer version. However, note that image occlusion cards can't be created directly within AnkiMobile. To fully leverage the capabilities of AnkiMobile, it is recommended to start with the computer version of Anki.

The cloud synchronization service is optional, and users also have the option to import/export data from the app using a USB cable or AirDrop.

Similar to other apps, AnkiMobile can be purchased once and used on multiple devices within a household sharing the same Apple ID. Family sharing is supported in most regions (excluding India). Educational institutions interested in bulk purchases can explore discounts available through Apple's Volume Purchase Program.
